First off, GTAV is a pretty good game. This is what inspired me to give my thoughts on this subject Click HERE to read that.
GTAV released a week ago, setting sale records all across the table. By what that article says which is very believable, is that parents are buying this game for their children without noticing what's really happening in this game. I'm not going to lie, GTA has always hasn't been a good influence by any means. The game is just mindless fun. How I picture it is that here you are in this semi-realistic world, do anything you want and no one can really stop you. But the problem is that it's more realistic than past installments.
During my teenage years playing GTA: Vice City and San Andreas. Never had any bad thoughts like killing a hooker in real life. Never minded the (clears throat) long purple object you find in the police department bathroom. It was goofy and sort of cartoony looking back at it. since GTAIV the series went for a more authentic feel and that changes everything.
Making everything more realistic means that parents should be more cautious on what games they buy for their children. Personally when playing GTAV it's still has that goofy madness like the past despite it's more realism. Although, playing The Last of Us made me want to hit people with a led pipe. The Last of Us came out earlier this year and just like GTAV it makes players feel more immersed in the world with the help of graphical realism.
To end this piece of awesome text, kids should not play GTAV at all. By me playing the game, it has the most explicit content I have ever seen (and heard) in any video game in my life! Teenagers are a questionable group cause everyone varies on maturity at that age. Let the parents watch the kids play at first to see if they are responsible enough. Any adults can check this game out, it's worth it.
